My transition into Special Education Law came about when my son needed more assistance at his school, and he was my first client. I had never thought about the field of special education law in law school or all the years I had worked in regulatory law and compliance until I saw the high demand and low supply when I searched for a special education lawyer for my own son’s needs. Families do not know their own rights or what the procedures are in schools and what they are entitled to. The processes are complicated, and it is not easy to navigate either the healthcare system to get diagnosed and qualified for services and special education or understand and navigate the system of special education once you have a diagnosis or evaluation and assessment completed. This section is intended to cover areas of Special Education as it relates to student needs and rights.
